Brenntag Guatemala, S. A.  operates as a subsidiary of world-wide corporation BRENNTAG in Central America, established in Guatemala in 1974 as part of HCI Group.  Our core business is the Distribution of Industrial Chemicals, as market leader in Guatemala we are committed to quality improvement, product diversification, and excellence in customer service.

From 1997 we counted on certification ISO 9002, and additionally we are operating under program CASA (Quality, safety and Environment) established by our matrix BRENNTAG at global level, which has allowed us to surpass local standards.

Our personnel is conformed by 55 people, of whom 60% work within the areas of Sales and Administration, and 40% in the operational area.

The main offices of Sales, Administration and Logistics, are in Guatemala City, in a total area of 5,000 m2, that includes 1,000 m2 of Offices, 1,400 m2 of Warehouses, and twelve liquid bulk tanks with 350 m3 total capacity.  A medium size Liquid Fertilizer plant operates there as well, to supply most of our Agro customers with taylor made formulas (Agrofeed).

A dry bulk storage warehouse and bagging facility is operating in Escuintla  55 km away from Guatemala City and near Puerto Quetzal (Pacific side), this roofed area of 2,500 m2 is dedicated to handle Sodium Sulphate and Sodium Carbonate.

In the Atlantic side at Sto Tomas Port, we count with 6,000m3 of Liquid bulk storage capacity (32 Tanks), and 350 m2 of office and warehouse, this facility is mostly used to storage, drumming and truck loading of Solvents, Liquid Caustic Soda and Avgas.

The Commercial activity is divided in IBU’S (Industrial Business Units), being the more relevant IBU’S: Personal Care and Detergents, Paints and Lacquers and Textiles.  These three units represent near 50% of the annual sales of the company.

Nevertheless our main activity is the Distribution of Industrial Chemicals, other not less important commercial activities are performed, as they are, third party storage services, direct or indent sales, taylor made blends under client specs, Liquid Fertilizers production, and Specialty Chemicals development.   

Among the main products that we sell are Liquid Caustic Soda, Thinner Blends and Solvents, Sodium Sulphate, Aviation Gas, and Sodium Carbonate.
